世界的に名盤と呼ばれている5thアルバム。 プロデューサーは、Brian Eno & Daniel Lanois。 本作からは「02. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For」「03. With or Without You 」が大ヒットしました。 アメリカのルーツ・ミュージックを取り入れていて 初期の作品とは違ったスケールが大きい優しいサウンドが印象的。ミスチルも影響を受けてそう。前半は良いとしても後半地味に感じるなあ。僕は彼らの作品だと『War』が好きなんですよね。
